What Is A Thread Lift?

Board-certified physician Dr. Stuart B. Porter can recontour your face with a nonsurgical facelift technique using polydioxanone (PDO) threads. Known as a thread lift, this aesthetic treatment can dramatically change your facial appearance without cutting or general anesthesia. Many people find surgical facelifts intimidating because of the surgical process, high cost of surgery, and the weeks of downtime that go with them. A PDO thread lift at Xage Medical Spa can treat the skin around the eyes, the mouth, the brow, and the mid-face. If you would like the opportunity to talk to Dr. Porter about a thread lift, we invite you to make an appointment for a consultation. You can also ask about our other services like wrinkle relaxer injections or dermal fillers to accentuate your results. Call today and schedule your consultation.

Do I qualify For A Nonsurgical Facelift?

You may qualify for a thread lift if you want to look younger, even though you have some lax skin on your cheeks, neck, or jawline. If you have mild looseness (with facial folds such as marionette lines and tear troughs) and do not wish to have surgery or the downtime of a conventional facelift, you may be a candidate for a thread lift. Dr. Porter can customize your thread lift to match your personal cosmetic goals. Schedule a consultation at Xage Medical Spa in order to determine if you are a good candidate.

Our Thread Lift Techniques

In one of our private treatment rooms, we will numb your face before starting the PDO thread lift process.  Dr. Porter will assess your skin and make marks on your skin with a washable marker before threading the treatment area. Then, he will insert the thread with a special medical cannula. Once threaded into your face, the unique sutures will naturally induce the production of collagen to aid in healthy skin renewal. They will also be absorbed by your body over time.

What To Expect After a Thread Lift

Your recovery time for a thread lift will not be as long as a traditional facelift. In fact, you should have zero downtime after a thread lift. You may experience tenderness, swelling, and bruising in the area for a few days. You might also see an immediate lift in your facial skin, but your skin will look better as the collagen in your skin regenerates (up to six months). Dr, Porter may suggest that you have follow-up thread lifts after 2 – 3 years.
